Brass Quintet
Mezinka Dance Mezinkah Dance
Traditional
arr. Zack Smith
Price: $10.00
The Mezinka Dance is a traditional song played at Jewish weddings when the last child
of a family is married off. Family members circle the parents and dance with a broom,
sweeping the last child out of the house. The piece has several different sections,
starts off with a trumpet cadenza, and picks up tempo with each new melody. Each
instrument carries the lead at some point. If you are looking for some cultural diversity
in your brass library, this would be a fun piece which could fit on a pops or classical program.
Listen to a synthesized sound clip starting toward the end of the cadenza.
